The Education For Employment System (EFE) is a public education system that contributes to the preparation of students for successful entry into employment and/or post—secondary education/training, creating a workforce ready for the 21st Century. The Region serves as a liaison to the Illinois State Board of Education. Its purpose is to administer and coordinate over 150 career and technical education (CTE) programs to over 7000 students in the Region’s 18 high schools and Capital Area Career Center. The intent of the consortium is to seek out and administer state and federal resources to deliver quality career and technical education within each region.

EFE Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Staff Development Activities
  • Assist with Program Improvement and Curriculum Development
  • Provide Resources, Supplies, Equipment to Programs
  • Offer Educational Material Through Regional Resource Lending Library
  • Write & Administer State & Federal Grants
  • Data Collector, Providing Assistance in Areas of Accountability and Performance
